This is the first album by American Flyer with Steve Katz and Craig Fuller from Pure Prairie League, Eric Kaz from Blues Magoos, Doug Yule from Velvet Underground.
Craog Fuller, sings lead on most of the cuts. Steve Katz's two contributions on which he sings, "Back in '57" and "M," was recorded with Blood,Sweat and Tears,
but never released. The album was excellent produced by George Martin. It was well received with good reviews. For whatever reasons,
American Flyer didn'tbecome the next Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. the single "Let Me Down Easy", reached 80 on Billboard Hot 100 1976. The
album only did peak in the lower reaches of the Top 100. American Flyer deserved better. In my opinion it's a great album, that I listen to a lot.
